Lucknow : Ayodhya is gearing up for one of its most spectacular celebrations again as preparations for Deepotsava 2025 gather pace. With Diwali falling on October 20 this year, Ayodhya is preparing to offer tourists and devotees a spectacle of light. The city is preparing to break its own Guinness World Record by lighting 26 lakh earthen lamps on October 19, as part of the grand annual Ayodhya Deepotsav celebration. These lamps will be placed along the banks of the Saryu River, Ram Ki Paidi and other ghats.
Largest-ever spiritual fest
With millions of diyas and an international-standard, eco-friendly fireworks show,it will add a global touch to the ancient celebration, turning the city into a stage of faith, culture, and modern artistry. The festival will feature the largest-ever Aarti ceremony, with over 1,100 religious leaders, saints, and artists taking part. The entire process of lamp arrangement, lighting, counting, and verification will be overseen by the UP tourism department.
Guinness World Record grabbing
The event’s technical accuracy and transparency will be monitored by the Guinness World Records adjudication panel. With aim of 26 lakh diyas this time, upon successful completion, a world record certificate will be awarded.
